No, children don’t need any prior knowledge of Spanish to join Sounds and Colors. Our immersion environment welcomes children encountering the language for the first time as well as those who already speak it, and understanding grows gradually through consistent exposure and relationships.
Plan Your Tour Experience
Discover the heart of Sounds and Colors by visiting one of our campuses — a special opportunity to explore our classrooms, meet our educators, and experience the joyful environments where children learn, play, and grow.
We warmly invite prospective families to schedule a tour of our schools. To ensure our time together is meaningful and intentional, we ask that families bring a completed Application, an Enrollment Acknowledgement Form, and a non-refundable $50 application fee per location they wish to tour.
For example, if you would like to visit two campuses, please submit one completed Application, one Enrollment Acknowledgement Form, and a $50 fee for each school. This process helps us honor the time and attention dedicated to every family while ensuring a shared commitment to our enrollment journey. Application fees should be made payable to Sounds and Colors.

Will my child become fluent in Spanish?
We build a strong foundation for bilingualism, though language acquisition is a long-term process and fluency depends on factors like age, length of enrollment, and consistency of attendance. What we provide is consistent, meaningful exposure to Spanish in a social environment where the language has real purpose.
Will learning Spanish delay my child's English development?
No. Research on bilingual development shows children learning two languages reach major milestones within the same broad range as monolingual children. We encourage families to keep speaking whatever language feels most natural at home; a strong home language supports rather than competes with Spanish.
Can non-Spanish-speaking parents participate?
Absolutely! Parents don’t need to speak Spanish for their child to benefit or for the family to be fully part of our community. We encourage continuing to use your home language, and parents can support their child’s interest in Spanish through books, music, and cultural experiences.
